一、学科简介 (Introduction)

 本学科依托蚕业研究所和生物技术学院建设，2003年获批特种经济动物饲养硕士授权点，2007年获批特种经济动物饲养博士授权点，2018年获批畜牧学一级学科博士学位授权。本学科为学校三大办学特色之一，与国内外研究院所和高校交流合作广泛。

 学科设有特种动物科学、畜牧生物工程和蚕桑资源利用3个方向。特种动物科学方向优势显著，建有全球规模最大的蚕、桑种质资源库，在蚕桑种质创新、品种培育和高效种养技术方面国际领先，我国现行养蚕核心技术体系、2/3以上蚕品种和1/3的桑品种由本学科研发提供，先后获国家级科技成果奖16项。畜牧生物工程方向特色鲜明，家蚕生物反应器、分子育种等处于国内先进水平。蚕桑资源利用方向优势明显，蚕桑生物资源高值化利用、活性物质提取及产品开发、桑叶功能型畜禽饲料化利用等研究有效拓展了产业领域。

Relying on the construction of Sericulture Research Institute and College of biotechnology, the discipline was approved as a master's degree program in special economic animal husbandry in 2003, a doctor's degree program in special economic animal husbandry in 2007, and a doctoral degree authorization in animal science in 2018. This discipline is one of the three characteristics of the University, and has extensive exchanges and cooperation with domestic and foreign research institutes and universities.

The subject has three directions: special animal science, animal husbandary bioengineering and utilization of sericulture resources. Special animal science has significant advantages. It has built the world's largest silkworm and mulberry germplasm resource banks, and is internationally leading in sericulture germplasm innovation, variety cultivation and efficient breeding technology. China's current core silkworm rearing technology system, more than 2/3 of silkworm varieties and 1/3 of mulberry varieties are provided by our research and development department. We have won 16 national science and technology achievement awards successively. The direction of animal husbandary bioengineering is distinctive, and the silkworm bioreactor and molecular breeding are at the advanced level in China. The advantages of sericulture resources utilization direction are obvious. The researches on high value utilization of silkworm biological resources, extraction of active substances and product development, and utilization of mulberry leaves as feed for livestock and poultry effectively expand the industrial field.

二、培养目标 (Program Objectives)

 本学科来华留学博士生应该掌握本学科坚实宽广的基础理论，系统深入的专业知识，深入了解本学科的历史、现状和发展方向，掌握本学科的科学研究技能；至少熟练掌握一门外国语，具有较强的科技写作能力与国际学术交流的能力，具备独立从事科学研究工作、教学或技术管理的能力，在专业基础理论或专业技术上有创造性的成果。

After doctorial curricula an international student should have possessed solid basic theory of the subject; mastered systemic specialized knowledge; deeply understood history, status quo and developmental direction; possessed scientific research skills of the subject. As a doctorial student who has to master one foreign language at least with relatively strong ability of composing and international exchange in academics; possessed ability of scientific research, education or technical management independently, and obtained creative fruits in specialized basic theory or technology.

五、学制与学分 (Schooling and Credits)

1. 学制 (School System)

 全日制教学，学制3年，特殊情况可申请延期，但延期时间最长不超过1年。

Full-time education system is adopted. The length of schooling is three years. In special case, international students can apply for delaying but no more long than one year.

2. 学分 (Course credit)

 来华留学博士生应修满14个学分，其中必修学位课程11学分，必修非学位课程2学分，选修课程不少于1学分。

International students for doctor degree should obtain 14 credits, including 11 credits of compulsory degree course, 2 credits of compulsory non-degree course and more than 1 credit of elective course.

六、课程设置及免修

2．课程免修（Exemption）

 在他国已经修学相应学科、专业博士学位课程的来华留学生，可以申请课程免修。申请人提供在他国修学的课程名称、成绩单以及两名专家（相当于副教授及其以上人员）的推荐信等材料。学院组织同行专家（副教授及其以上人员）组对其已经修学的博士学位课程进行审查、审核、考试或考核。凡经专家组认可的课程，可以免修。

In case that one has finished the corresponding courses in the same subject and specialty in another country, he / she can apply for exemption of the course. But the applicant has to provide the name and score sheet of the course, and recommendation of two experts (equal to associate professor or over title). College will organize experts in the same subject to examine and verify, or test the course that the applicant has leant. Only whose course has been approved by the expert group, this course can be exempted by the applicant.

七、科研要求与学位论文 (Scientific Research Requirements and Dissertation)

1. 科研要求 (Scientific Research Requirements)

来华留学博士生应按照导师要求参加科研活动，开展学位论文相关课题研究，并以江苏科技大学为第一作者单位在SCI期刊发表1篇学术论文（英语）。

International students for doctor degree should take part in activities of scientific research required by tutors and carry out research subject related to the dissertation, and publish one research article in SCI journal (in English) using JUST as the first author’s unit.

2. 学位论文(Dissertation)

 学位论文用英文或中文进行撰写。选用英文撰写的学位论文，其摘要需要用中文撰写；选用中文撰写的学位论文，其摘要需要用英文撰写。

 提倡来华留学博士生撰写论文与其本国实际相结合；确因需要、经指导教师同意，研究所领导和国际学院领导批准，来华留学博士生可以利用部分时间回国撰写论文，但在我国进行科学研究工作的时间累计不得少于一年半；来华留学博士的论文答辩工作必须在我国进行。

Dissertations should be written in English or in Chinese. When it is in English, its abstract be written in Chinese, and vice versa.

We encourage international students for doctor degree to prepare their dissertations combining the practice of their own countries. Because of certain reasons international students can use part of schooling days go back to his /her country to prepare dissertation after obtaining agreement of tutors and approval of the institute and International School of JUST. But international students must stay no less than one and a half years for scientific research, and dissertation oral defense should be performed in China.

八、培养模式 (Training Mode)

 普通高等学校培养来华留学博士生，可以采取两种方式：一是脱产培养，整个培养过程均在我国完成；二是在职培养，其课程学习和撰写论文可以在我国和他国完成。 在职培养的来华留学博士生，如果课程学习在他国完成的，其课程考试应在我国进行；学位论文在他国完成的，其论文答辩工作必须在我国进行。在职培养的来华留学博士生，在我国进行课程学习和科学研究工作的时间累计不得少于一年半。

There are two types for ordinary colleges and universities to bring up international students for doctor degree. One is full-time study, in which the full education process is completed in China. Another is in-service study, in which the curricula and dissertation can be completed in China or another country. If the curricula are completed in another country, then examination of each course should be carried out in China. If degree dissertation is prepared in another country, then dissertation oral defense should be performed in China. International students of in-service study should stay no less than one and a half years totally for curricula study and scientific research in China.

九、学位授予 (Degree Authorization)

 来华留学博士生通过本专业规定的学位课程考试以及其它必修和选修课程的考核或考查、达到科研要求、完成规定环节，方可申请学位论文答辩。通过学位论文答辩者，学校颁发博士毕业证书，并授予农学博士学位。

Only who has passed examination of doctorial degree courses and passed tests of other compulsory or elective courses, and completed the requirements of scientific research and compulsory steps, can international students for doctor degree apply for dissertation oral defense. After one has passed through the dissertation oral defense, JUST will issue the doctorate graduation certificate and grant agricultural Ph.D.
