1. 学科简介(Introduction)

轮机工程：轮机工程学科是江苏省重点学科和优势学科。本学科是为水上交通运输、海洋资源开发等提供各类船舶动力与轮机系统、装备、工程设计与建造的工程领域，是集现代船舶轮机工程中机、电、热、自动化及管理于一体的高新技术综合学科，对船舶与海洋工程建设与开发具有十分重要的意义。

 轮机工程学科拥有一支结构合理、团结协作、学术水平高、在国内外有影响的研究队伍。经过多年的发展，该学科已形成了稳定的研究方向、显著的办学特色和丰富的教学科研成果。目前承担了国家自然科学基金、江苏省自然科学基金以及国防预研等高水平科研项目，科研经费充足，具备了招收国外留学生攻读博士学位的学科条件。

Marine Engineering：is the key and featured subject of Jiangsu Province. Marine engineering is a engineering field to provide a wide range of ship power and turbine systems, equipment, engineering design and construction for marine traffic transport industry, marine resource exploitation, etc. which is of great significance to the construction and development of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering. The subject is a high-tech discipline which with the integration of machine, electricity, heat, automation and management of modern ship.

Marine Engineering discipline has a high academic level of research team with reasonable structure, unity and cooperation, which has a large influence in domestic and foreign. With years of development, these two subjects have formed a stable and significant research direction, obtained rich achievements on both teaching and scientific research. Currently, we undertake high level scientific research projects such as National Natural Science Foundation, Natural Science Foundation of Jiangsu Province and the National Defense Pre-research. With enough research funding, we have disciplinary conditions to recruit foreign students studying for a doctorate’s degree.

2. 培养目标(Program Objectives)

 本学科来华留学博士生应掌握轮机工程学科扎实的理论基础和系统的专门知识，具有独立分析问题、解决问题的能力，同时掌握相关的实验测试与数据分析、计算机应用编程等技术，毕业后能够从事轮机工程领域相关的教学、科研、设计及管理等方面的工作。

The international doctor students in China on this discipline should grasp solid theoretical foundation and systematic specialized knowledge of Power Engineering and Marine Engineering discipline, obtain the ability on analyzing and solving problems independently, and master the basic technologies such as experimental test and data analysis and computer application programming. After graduation, they can be engaged in teaching, scientific research, design and management, etc. in the fields of Marine Engineering.

5. 学制与学分(Schooling and Credits)

1. 学制（School System）

 学制三年，其中，课程学习时间一般为1年，学位论文形成时间一般为2年，在籍年限累计不超过6年（从入学至毕业），在校攻读时间最短不得少于2年。

The length of schooling is three years, in which the course learning time is generally one year, and the dissertation formation time is generally two years. The accumulated years are not more than three years (from enrollment to graduation), and the minimum time of study in the University is not less than two years.

2. 学分（Credits）

 在校期间应修满14学分，其中学位课不少于10学分，非学位课不少于4学分。

The oversea graduate students are required to obtain 14 credits, including no less than 10 credits for degree courses, and no less than 4  credits for non-degree courses.

七、科研要求与学位论文(Scientific Research Requirements and Dissertation)

1. 科研要求(Scientific Research Requirements)

 来华留学博士生应按照导师要求参加科研活动，开展学位论文相关课题研究，并以江苏科技大学为第一作者单位发表学术论文1篇（英语）。申请博士学位只需要满足下列要求之一：

(1) 以第一作者发表学术论文1篇并被SCI (E)/SSCI收录。

(2)公开发表学术论文2篇，其中至少有1篇申请人为第一作者并被EI收录(不含会议论文)，另一篇以申请人为第一作者或导师为第一作者、申请人为第二作者并发表在国外单独主办的期刊上。

(3)在国外单独举办的期刊上公开发表学术论文3篇，其中至少2篇申请人为第一作者，另外一篇以申请人为第一作者或导师为第一作者、申请人为第二作者。在国外召开的国际会议上作口头报告的学术论文视同在国外单独主办的期刊上发表的论文，但最多以1篇计算。

International students for doctor degree should take part in activities of scientific research required by tutors and carry out research subject related to the dissertation, and publish one research article in academic journal (in English) using JUST as the first corresponding organization. Only one of the following requirements is required to apply for a doctoral degree:

(1) Published one academic paper as the first author and included in SCI (E) / SSCI.

(2) Published two academic papers, at least one of which is the first author and included by EI (excluding Conference Papers), the other is the first author or tutor of the applicant and the second author of the applicant and published in a foreign independently sponsored journal.

(3) Publish three academic papers in foreign journals, at least two of which are the first author, the other is the first author or tutor, and the applicant is the second author. The academic papers presented orally at international conferences held abroad shall be regarded as those published in journals independently sponsored by foreign countries, but the maximum number is one.

2. 学位论文(Dissertation)

 学位论文用英文或中文进行撰写。选用英文撰写的学位论文，其摘要需要用中文撰写；选用中文撰写的学位论文，其摘要需要用英文撰写。

 提倡来华留学博士生撰写论文与其本国实际相结合；确因需要、经指导教师同意，研究所领导和国际学院领导批准，来华留学博士生可以利用部分时间回国撰写论文，但在我国进行科学研究工作的时间累计不得少于一年半；来华留学博士的论文答辩工作必须在我国进行。

Dissertations should be written in English or in Chinese. When it is in English, its abstract be written in Chinese, and vice versa.

We encourage international doctor students to prepare their dissertations combining the practice of their own countries. Because of certain reasons international students can use part of schooling days to go back to their motherlands to prepare dissertation after obtaining agreement of tutors and approval of the institute and International School of JUST. But international students must stay no less than one and a half years for scientific research, and dissertation oral defense should be performed in China.

八、培养模式（Training Mode）

 普通高等学校培养来华留学博士生，可以采取两种方式：一是脱产培养，整个培养过程均在我国完成；二是在职培养，其课程学习和撰写论文可以在我国和他国完成。 在职培养的来华留学博士生，如果课程学习在他国完成的，其课程考试应在我国进行；学位论文在他国完成的，其论文答辩工作必须在我国进行。在职培养的来华留学博士生，在我国进行课程学习和科学研究工作的时间累计不得少于一年半。

There are two types for ordinary colleges and universities to bring up international doctor students. One is full-time study, in which the full education process is completed in China. Another is in-service study, in which the curricula and dissertation can be completed in China or another country. If the curricula are completed in another country, then examination of each course should be carried out in China. If degree dissertation is prepared in another country, then dissertation oral defense should be performed in China. International students of in-service study should stay no less than one and a half years totally for curricula study and scientific research in China.

九、学位授予(Degree Authorization)

 来华留学博士生通过本专业规定的学位课程考试以及其它必修和选修课程的考核或考查、达到科研要求、完成规定环节，方可申请学位论文答辩。通过学位论文答辩者，学校颁发博士毕业证书，并授予农学博士学位。

Only who has passed examination of doctoral degree courses and passed tests of other compulsory or elective courses, and completed the requirements of scientific research and compulsory steps, can international doctor students apply for dissertation oral defense. After one has passed through the dissertation oral defense, JUST will issue the doctorate graduation certificate and grant agricultural doctor degree.
