On the morning of December 9, Zhenjiang's first campus immigration affairs service station was inaugurated at our campus in Changshan. The Immigration Affairs Service Station will be jointly used by the Exit and Entry Administration of Zhenjiang Public Security Bureau and our School of Overseas Education. The opening ceremony was attended by Captain Zhang Jing of the Exit-Entry Branch of Zhenjiang Public Security Bureau, Deputy Director Xu Feng of Dantu Branch of Zhenjiang Public Security Bureau, and Dean Cui Jie of our School of Overseas Education.
Dean Cui Jie introduced the basic situation of the college. The management of international students in the university has always been cared for, helped and supported by the entry-exit administration of Zhenjiang City, which not only gives guidance in terms of policies but also implements the details in terms of services and solves many specific difficulties for the university. The establishment of the immigration service station in Changshan Campus has greatly facilitated the foreign students and foreign professors of the university to go through relevant foreign affairs procedures.
He pointed out that the establishment of the immigration service station and the appointment of part-time counselors would help create a new platform, optimize the new mechanism and expand the new situation, form a closed-loop management with the help of multiple forces, create a good security environment and better spread the voice of China to every corner of the world.
After the inauguration ceremony, Zhenjiang Immigration Detachment, Dantu Branch and our School of Overseas Education signed an agreement on the appointment of off-campus counselors. According to the agreement, the entry-exit administration of Zhenjiang City sends police officers to Overseas Education College every year to be the off-campus counselors for international students of the university. This time, 6 police officers including Peng Yuanyuan were appointed as external counselors for international students. After the ceremony, the international student managers and the part-time counselors exchanged views and discussed the development and implementation of specific work together.
It is reported that after the establishment of the Immigration Service Station and the signing of the agreement on the appointment of off-campus counselors, the police and the university will hold regular joint meetings, and the immigration police will work on site once a week to provide international students with consultation on the policy of stopping residence and publicity and training on immigration laws and regulations, and coordinate and guide the handling of foreign-related incidents of international students, which is expected to benefit more than 600 international students from more than 40 countries and regions of the university. Meanwhile, the two sides will organize cultural and sports activities with national characteristics from time to time to help international students integrate into the life of Zhenjiang.
